Bell Helicopter Training Academy Grants Warriors Wish

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (April 1, 2009) - Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company has underwritten the tuition fees for SSG Ryan Kelly (Retried) allowing him to attend the Bell Helicopter Training Academy and become a professional helicopter pilot.
Working with the Hope For The Warriors™ foundation, Bell funded the 206BIII initial Pilot Ground and Flight Procedures courses so Kelly could earn the necessary credits to obtain his pilot's license.
Trey Wade, director of Bell's Training Academy said, "Bell Helicopter and the Bell Helicopter Training Academy are proud to be a small part of Ryan's new success; we are honored to help such a dedicated war fighter achieve his dream."
Kelly served in Bosnia in support of peace keeping operations, and was deployed to Iraq in April 2003 with his unit when his convoy was ambushed with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The insurgent attack severed his right leg below the knee. He recently graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ, with a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Studies with minors in Helicopters Flight and Aviation Safety. Ryan was able to graduate from college and become a professional helicopter pilot in large part to the support of the Wounded Warrior Project and the Department of Veterans Affairs, Vocational Rehabilitation Program.
Kelly is the recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal for Valor, and a Combat Action Badge. He is currently employed with Petroleum Helicopter in Lafayette, Louisiana.
