| FlySmart Hourly Rate Plans
The Bell Helicopter Customer Support & Services organization is currently focused
on developing a comprehensive portfolio of services that can be tailored to each of
our customers' operational performance needs. This portfolio of services is branded
as FlySmart™. The first step that we have taken with this program is to re-name the
Fixed Hourly Rate Plans. The new plans are as follows:
FLYSMART ™ SILVER PLAN
Provides original equipment manufactured
(OEM) spares supply support for specific airframe drive train components at a
fixed hourly rate. The program includes component overhauls, replacement of
life limited parts embodied in the covered component, parts and labor to
incorporate mandatory bulletins that affect the covered component, and replacement
components in the event of an unscheduled failure. The plan also provides for
those parts to be pre-positioned prior to a scheduled overhaul, minimizing
downtime required for scheduled maintenance. The plan does not include labor
(for removal, replacement, troubleshooting, etc.) shipping, insurance, customs,
taxes, consumables and/or hardware. Specific covered components vary from model
to model but typically cover the primary drivetrain components
FLYSMART ™ GOLD PLAN
provides OEM spares for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance at a fixed hourly
rate. It includes the basic helicopter, Bell optional accessories, and standard
avionics. It does not include nonstandard kits, non-Bell kits, customizing, or
Supplemental Type Certificates. In addition to scheduled and unscheduled
maintenance it includes component overhauls, retirement parts, and mandatory
bulletins. It does not include labor (for removal, replacement, troubleshooting,
etc.), shipping, insurance, customs, taxes, consumables/hardware or anything
priced less than $150. Parts are provided by the nearest Bell Supply Center, or
at customers' request, the nearest Customer Supply Center. Customers simply
change or repair the part, and file a warranty claim with Bell.
FLYSMART ™ GOLD PLUS PLAN
Provides the same protection against
unforeseen costs as the Gold Plan with the addition of engine coverage. The engine
will be covered and contracted with the engine OEM. The additional charges
collected as part of the Gold Plus Plan will be passed through to the engine
OEM. This service is provided for customers who wish to pay one hourly rate
to a single source. The rates are based, depending on the engine manufacturer,
on the engine cycles per hour.
